The Lofty Mom is Alyssia Aguilar, a Houston-based Latina artist, graphic designer, and single mother who uses her creativity to inspire and connect with others. Rooted in her love for art and her journey as a mom, Alyssia turned personal challenges into opportunities to share her story and honor her culture.
What began as a mom blog evolved into a thriving platform where she collaborates with brands like the Houston Texans, SHEIN, Moonpay and more. She creates custom designs, and uses her work to empower others. Through her art, Alyssia celebrates resilience, diversity, and the beauty of human connection, proving that with passion and perseverance, you can turn any challenge into something extraordinary.
Alyssia is a dynamic Latina artist with a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising and has a certification from Yale SOM. A self-taught talent with extensive experience working with clients from around the globe, Alyssia’s work reflects her passion for creativity and storytelling.
Her artistic style is vibrant and engaging, often featuring colorful palettes and meaningful narratives brought to life through various mediums, with a special love for digital art. As she continues to thrive in her artistic journey, Alyssia is embracing new horizons, including the Web3 space, and expanding her reach into larger, more innovative opportunities. To honor Cinco de Mayo and the Battle of Puebla, we commissioned a piece from Alyssia Aguilar, a local self-taught artist who uses bold and vibrant colors to portray the story of the “last man standing” in this piece – a nod to the men who stood and fought against the French army in 1862.
Alyssia was incredibly honored and proud to represent as a Latina Artist 🇲🇽 in this historic UNGA 78 Latine show.
She is cheval is a shoe brand that had an opportunity to shine light on Alyssia’s work through a custom shoe collab where The Lofty Mom was able to highlight her culture and art on a pair of boots during Hispanic Heritage Month.
In 2020 Alyssia was honored by receiving the Erin Kay Flatly award by offering her time and efforts to help raise awareness in honor of her son who lost his life to Sepsis at 16 days old.
Alyssia was featured alongside another amazing woman in the NFT space, Jimena Buenavida as they shared their journey in the NFT space. Proud to be part of the representation in the Web3 space by being a woman and a Latina.
The Houston texans collaborated with Alyssia to create a custom 1/1 helmet that was hand crafted by Alyssia herself. The art being featured was inspired by her Latin Roots and the helmet was showcased during Latinx Heritage Month in 2022 which landed over 33k likes on the Texans IG post.
Alyssia showcased this custom NFT that is owned by Elizabeth Tsehai. This piece was created to showcase her story of being an Afro-Latina and was featured in Times Square NYC in June 2022.
Alyssia had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the SHEIN team, contributing her creative vision to a special partnership with the Frida Kahlo team. This collaboration allowed her to merge her artistic style with the legacy of an iconic cultural figure, further showcasing her talent on a global stage.
SHEIN launched a collection for the Latinx Heritage month in 2022 and The Lofty Mom was able to launch pieces within this collection to honor her Mexican roots as a Latina Artist.
Alyssia was contracted to design and create illustrations depicting tips and information for families and teens that are diagnosed with Kidney Disease and living with Cystinosis.
Alyssia had an incredible opportunity to speak to students at Harmony Public School during their Hispanic Heritage Program. She presented a speech that talked about “Perserverance”, which is one of the school’s core values.
She spoke about her own challenges within the creative industry as a “Latina” but ended on the note of how her labels have only EMPOWERED her and added value to her work.
Creatively launched a Web3 class where Alyssia had the opportunity to share her insights, and journey into the web3 space as a Latina Artist.
Alyssia was amongst some leading women in the NFT space to speak about representation, creating art and breaking boundaries. Presented by Twitter and hosted by Refinery 29.
